Standing waves

Standing waves are generated whenever a wave strikes a wall, is reflected and then superimposed over other waves on their way to or from the same point. If the wavelength is such that it is half or a multiple of the space between two parallel walls, there will be resonance. This resonance is termed a standing wave.
