Assembly

In order to avoid interference (the sound waves from one speaker cancelling out the waves from another) at the transition points from one speaker to another, they are positioned very close together. This means that you will have to be very careful when making the cut-outs. The two square bass channels in the baffle are made of one side panel and three smaller boards. The ports have to be cut out of the baffle with a jig-saw. The crossover unit is screwed to the rear of the cabinet through the upper bass loudspeaker cut-out. The opening in the rear panel is for the terminal.

Inner damping

The speaker cabinet needs very heavy damping inside. At the same time, ensure that there is no damping material about a hand's width behind the ports (refer to drawing).

Extract from Klang & Ton

"The ideal choice, if your shelves have the depth, is the Visaton Filou, which may have a modest height but still boasts a large cabinet volume and, as a result, produces impressive powerful bass, and yet still manages to generate exuberant high-range.“

Value for money: very good
