Energy component

The higher the energy component of the radiation resistance, the greater the sound produced. At low frequencies, the reactive component is stronger and at higher frequencies the energy component is stronger. At low frequencies, the energy component of the radiation resistance increases proportionally to the square of the frequency. This fact is of crucial importance if you wish to understand how a loudspeaker's frequency response is calculated.
