Dome driver

Dome drivers differ from cone drivers in that the diaphragm and surround are left out and the sound is radiated by the dust cap alone. Benefits: - very rigid dome due to the shape - wide radiation angle due to small diaphragm size - good pulse response thanks to low mass. This dome is not able to make large excursions. For this reason, they are only used as mid-range speakers and tweeters. The diaphragm is made of woven fabric or a special aluminium or titanium alloy.
