Effect-Speaker

Loudspeaker for the surround channel which produces a diffuse sound field. In a Dolby® Surround Prologic system, it generates a range of frequencies from 100 Hz to 7,000 Hz. According to the THX®- specifications, it covers a range from 125 Hz to 10,000 Hz and is designed as a dipole because of the radiation pattern this produces. In multi-channel systems, an effect speaker can also be used as a full-range driver.
