Transmission line speaker

In transmission line speakers, a resonator tube is added to the loudspeaker and this acts like an organ pipe. This resonator is nothing more than a large-diameter pipe which is closed at one end and open at the other. Resonance occurs when the length of the tube is a multiple of a quarter cycle of a sine or cosine function. Damping the line will allow you to influence its characteristics. However, this involves many tests and a lot of experience. If you want to produce very low frequencies with a TL, it can reach several metres in length. This type of construction is then made as a folded tube. See Proficlub 12/96 "TL-Subwoofer".
